# Running a Timer During Whiteboarding Sessions
You can set a Timer in SmartDraw while you work on your document. To access the Timer, use the **Whiteboarding Tools Dropdown** and select **Timer.**
Adjusting the Amount of Time
The Timer will appear in the top right-hand corner of your document. You can use the **"-"** and **"+"** buttons to add or remove time from the Timer. You can also use your keyboard to type an amount into the Timer. To do so, just click into the minutes and seconds fields and type in the amount you want.
Adding More Time
If you need to add more time while the Timer is counting down, simply press the "**+1m"** or **"+5m"** buttons located in the Timer box.
How To Pause and Stop a Timer
The **Pause** and **Stop** buttons are located under the countdown.
Minimizing a Timer
If you want to minimize the Timer box, use can use the **arrows** in the top right-hand corner of the Timer.
Delete a Timer
Once the Timer is done, or you no longer wish to have it displayed on your screen, click the **"X"** in the top right-hand corner of the Timer box.
