Inserting Images and Importing Photos

You can add an image of any kind to a selected shape or insert a standalone image into your document. This image can be a photo, an illustration, a graphic design asset, a logo, an icon, or a vector graphic. SmartDraw accepts images in JPG, PNG, SVG, and PDF format.

To add an image, click the Insert command on the Home tab and choose Picture.

Browse your computer for the image file and click OK from the Import Image dialog box.

You can import the following file formats: JPG, PNG, SVG, or PDF.

There's also a separate PDF option under the Insert command. Learn how to add a PDF to your document here.

Check the box for Import as a Background Image, if you want your image to be the background of your document. Learn more about using background image for floor plans.
