[AI Diagramming](https://support.smartdraw.com/smartdraw-ai?hsLang=en-us#ai-diagramming) # Generate a Mind Map with AI You can use SmartDraw’s AI integration to generate a mind map using natural language prompts.  ### Step 1: Switch the SmartPanel to SmartDraw AI Start by clicking on the star or sparkle icon in the left bar to switch the SmartPanel to the **SmartDraw AI** view.  ![](https://support.smartdraw.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/52339887236372-1.png) ### Step 2: Enter a Prompt Type in your prompt and hit the send icon in the lower right corner to send your prompt to the LLM.  ![](https://support.smartdraw.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/52339887239700-1.png) For example, you can try the following prompt to get a simple mind map: After the mind map is generated, a chat message will notify you, and the mind map will appear inside a frame in the drawing area on the right. ![](https://support.smartdraw.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/52339887241364-1.png) You can continue to modify the generated mind map using AI. Ask to remove items or add more detail.  ### Step 3: Edit Your Generated Mind Map in SmartDraw You can also modify the generated mind map with SmartDraw’s built-in mind mapping tools.
