For conceptual design ideas, just describe the building you want.  The generated floor plan will be full editable by SmartDraw’s intuitive yet powerful set of floor planning tools. ### Step 1: Start with a Floor Plan Template To generate a floor plan using SmartDraw AI, you'll first have to pick a floor plan template. AI floor plan generation is only available from a scaled drawing template. So be sure to start with one of SmartDraw's many floor plan templates. ![](https://support.smartdraw.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/51963673659924-1.png) ### Step 2: Switch the SmartPanel to SmartDraw AI Once you selected a floor plan template, simply click on the star or sparkle icon in the left bar to switch the SmartPanel to the **SmartDraw AI** view. ![](https://support.smartdraw.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/51965468297108-1.png) ### Step 3: Enter a Prompt In the prompt section, describe what you'd like AI to build you. You can use AI to get general layout concepts for houses and commercial buildings.
