# Collaboration Settings
### Using Layers While Collaborating
In SmartDraw, only one layer can be edited at a time, meaning all users must be on the same layer at the same time. If there are multiple layers and someone selects a different layer, all other collaborators will be switched to that layer as well. ### Using Undo with Collaborators
If you accidentally make an error while collaborating, you can utilize the undo button to promptly reverse the action. The undo action applies to the most recent modification made to the document by any collaborator, regardless of which collaborator clicks the undo button. ### What Settings are Not Visible to Collaborators
Collaborating doesn't mean everyone will always see the exact same thing. Personal Settings and Libraries will vary for each collaborator.
- Personal Settings - Some of the settings in the app such as minimizing the toolbar, opening or closing the SmartPanel, and recent color palettes are never shared between collaborators.
- Libraries - Loading a library in the SmartPanel makes it visible to only the user who loaded it, not to other collaborators.
### How Document Settings Work During Collaboration
Certain document settings, like showing rulers, turning the grid on and off, and adjusting the zoom level, are not shared during a collaboration session. However, when the last collaborator leaves the document, their settings will be saved, and the next time the document is open, those saved settings will be applied to the user. ### Version History with Collaborators
The creator of the document or the first editor in a collaboration session is recorded in the version history as the person who made the change to that version of the document. A new version is created when the last editor leaves the document, with the name tied to the version history being the first collaborator to make an edit in that session.
